Two easy ways to buy

 

Online

The quickest and easiest way to buy is right here online. All you need is:

  1. Evidence of age - a valid UK driving licence, passport or EEA national ID card
  2. A good quality digital passport-style photo ready to upload
  3. A debit or credit card for payment

If you don't have any of the above forms of ID, you can upload a scan of your birth certificate or a Government-approved PASS card instead. Please note that applications using these will take a little longer to process.

 

By phone

You can buy your 16-17 Saver over the phone. Call our telesales service on 0345 301 1656* (7am to 10pm every day except Christmas Day).

You'll need:

  1. Evidence of age - a valid UK driving licence, passport or EEA national ID card - over the phone or email us a copy
  2. A good quality digital passport-style photo ready to be emailed to us
  3. A debit or credit card for payment

If you don't have any of the above forms of ID, you can email a scan of your birth certificate or a Government-approved PASS card instead. Please note that applications using these forms of ID will take a little longer to process.

 

*Calls cost no more than calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02) and may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes. Please note, you’ll also need to submit your photo via email.

 

The 16-17 Saver is not available to buy at stations.

Two options for delivery

You can choose to download your 16-17 Saver to your phone or you can have a card posted to you. 

 

16-17 Saver on your phone: the digital 16-17 Saver needs to be stored in the Railcard app on your phone. Once you buy your digital 16-17 Saver, download the Railcard app to a mobile device and use the download code that you will be sent via email to upload your 16-17 Saver to the Railcard app. It’s almost instant so you can start using it straight away.

 

16-17 Saver by post: if you choose to have your 16-17 Saver posted to you, we aim to dispatch this within one working day of your order and it’s best to allow up to 5 working days for your 16-17 Saver to arrive. It’ll be sent out free of charge by First Class post, but if you prefer, you have the option to pay for Special Delivery. 

You’ll need to have your 16-17 Saver with you to be able to get a discount on your rail ticket, so be sure to leave enough time before your journey for the 16-17 Saver to reach you.
